theCallboard

Post the call once. Everyone sees it.

theCallboard is the backstage callboard, online. Publish rehearsal calls, collect conflicts, get confirmations and send reports. Your whole company has the schedule on their phone.

No card needed. The company joins free; only the organization subscribes.

What it does

Everything that used to live on the corkboard by the stage door

Made for stage managers who are tired of reply-all chains, and for actors who just want to know when to show up.

Schedule

Call the right people, not the whole company

Call the full company, whole departments or individual actors. Give someone a later call time or an early release without making a second call. Drafts stay private until you publish.

  • Color-coded call types: rehearsal, tech, dress, performance, fittings, work calls
  • List and month views, plus "only my calls" for everyone
  • Conflicts show up while you build the call, before you publish it
Reminders & texts

Reminders by default. Texts only when you choose.

Everyone gets reminders and schedule changes in the app, at no cost. When something really needs a text, you send it on purpose. You'll see exactly how many texts it uses and how many you have left before you confirm.

  • Text a reminder now, or schedule one before each person's call
  • Quiet hours respected, so no 3 AM pings
  • Reply C to confirm, STOP to opt out
For the company

Their schedule, in their pocket

Actors and crew see every call they're in across every show they're part of, with their own call and release times. They confirm with a swipe and file their conflicts. The iPhone app sets reminders on the device, so they work even in a basement with no signal.

  • Free for everyone in the company
  • One schedule across every production they're in
  • Notification bell for changes, cancellations and new reports
Script & reports

Notes go on the page they're about

Upload the script and mark it up. Blocking, line notes and cues sit right next to the line. Keep a note to yourself or share it with the company. After rehearsal, publish the report and everyone gets notified.

  • Highlights and margin notes, private or shared
  • Numbered rehearsal reports with department notes
  • Shared files for the company, or managers only
Season at a glance

Every show, one calendar

See the whole month: rehearsals, techs, dresses and performances, color-coded the way you'd tape them on the wall. Each show gets a poster and a status badge, from pre-production to closed.

  • Month calendar per production and across your shows
  • Status badges follow your dates automatically
  • Closed shows step aside but keep their history
And also

The rest of the backstage paperwork

Online auditions

Share an audition link. People submit their details, roles, conflicts, headshot and résumé. You rate and review them in one place. No inbox digging.

Private video rooms

Add a video room to any call for remote rehearsals or production meetings. Only the people called can get in.

Public show pages

A page for each show, with poster, dates and the company's bios and headshots, plus a page for your organization listing the season.

Conflicts calendar

Cast and crew file their own conflicts. Only managers see the full picture, and conflicts are flagged when you build calls.

Invites by email

Invite people to your organization or straight into a production with their role and department. They land with the schedule ready.

Light or dark

Built for dim rehearsal rooms and bright offices alike. Switch themes, or follow your device.

FAQ

Questions from the booth

Something else? Sign up and look around. The free plan doesn't expire.

Does everyone in the cast need to pay?

No. Plans are per organization. Actors, crew and creative team join free, as many as you need, and can be in shows from more than one organization with one account.

What happens when the free trial ends?

Your organization moves to the Free plan unless you choose a paid one. Nothing is deleted. If you have more open productions than Free allows, you can keep working in them; you just can't open new ones until you close one or upgrade.

How do texts work, and what counts toward the allowance?

Reminders and changes always arrive in the app at no cost. A stage manager can also send a text on purpose from any call. The dialog shows exactly how many texts it will use before you confirm. Texts that can't be delivered (no phone, opted out, call cancelled) don't count, and the allowance resets on the 1st of each month.

Is there an iPhone app?

Yes. The companion iPhone app shows your schedule across every show, lets you confirm calls and file conflicts, and sets reminders on the device so they work without signal. Everything also works in any browser.

Who can see my phone number and conflicts?

Your phone number is visible only to you; stage managers send texts through theCallboard without seeing it. Your conflicts are visible to you and the production's managers. Access is enforced by the database itself, not just the app.

Can we use it for auditions before the show is cast?

Yes. Create the production, open an audition, and share the link. Submissions, headshots and résumés collect in one place, where the creative team can rate them and leave notes.

Can I change plans or cancel later?

Anytime, from your organization's billing page. Upgrades take effect immediately; if you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for, then move to Free.
